The mission and the resources!

This study, accompanied by a subsequent mentorship, addresses classic aspects of missions, but focuses primarily on the importance of the resources that God places at our disposal: time, spiritual gifts, natural talents, acquired capacities, and financial assets.

The content has been pondered and developed over several years to raise awareness among Christian leaders about the importance of approaching this biblical theme in a healthy way, for the smooth operation of mission projects in general.

It is designed in Spanish and largely in Portuguese, oriented mainly to the Latin American context and aimed at theology students, leaders, pastors, missionaries, as well as the church in general.

Using the analogy of the minister as a fisherman and the church as a fishing community, this training focuses its attention mainly on the actors of the mission rather than on "how to fish" and "where to fish," thus differing somewhat from classic mission courses, which mostly focus on where and how to fish (on methods and places).

Much of it originated from noticing a common factor among many leaders we met along our journey: how the lack of resources prevented them from carrying out their work effectively or stifled projects to which they felt the Lord had called them.

In this context of a lack of financial resources, key questions arose: A) Does the God who created the heavens and the earth not have the resources to sustain the work He entrusts to us? B) Is there something in our ministerial mechanics that hinders the healthy development of the mission?

As we delved deeper, we discovered that the spiritual and technical causes that often hold back the church's work in this area can be varied and complex, like the gears of a machine that require coordination and constant maintenance to function properly.

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION! This study is not based on "corporate financial psychology" nor on an "earthly prosperity gospel." It is crafted with humility and New Testament biblical zeal, respecting the sensitivity of this theme.

Nor was it created from a stance of superiority by ministers without financial needs; on the contrary, many times during our ministerial journey, we also had needs in this area and were faced with the task of having to answer these questions honestly and search for the flaw in the gears of our own mission work.

We hope that every part is useful and a blessing to all who study it.

• The deceptions and dangers of false teachings about faith and economic prosperity.
• The importance of good teaching on this topic so that missions can flourish and bear fruit.
